Chalet Delavay, Catered Chalet

SKI 2 RATING

CLIENT RATING

Chalet Delavay has been constructed in a traditional alpine style and is situated in the centre of the village, overlooking the main street and just across the road from the base of the Chavannes lift – indicated in purple on the image above! Fully catered by Ski 2 staff, the chalet sleeps 8 comfortably, with an extra 4 beds available if required.

Ideally located, it occupies the top floor of a traditional building, with our ski hire situated in the basement. The street below is home to many of the numerous restaurants and bars of Les Gets, making the location of this chalet perfect for those who want to explore all that this popular resort has to offer.

The chalet has been the subject of a recent refurbishment which included the replacement of bathroom fittings and some of the furniture, plus an upgrade of most of the soft furnishings.

“Very comfortable in a fantastic location. After picking up gear from the boot room (located on the ground floor of the chalet) it is literally 40 seconds walk to the lifts etc. My husband has been a skier for many years skiing many resorts and he said that Chalet Delavey is the best location he has ever stayed. The chalet was warm and comfortable with the staff being extremely friendly and helpful. Harriet and Chris are your hosts with Chris preparing wonderful French cuisine all to a very high standard – superb. Harriet takes care of your every need making sure that you are comfortable in the chalet and enjoying your stay – hostess with the mostest!!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

A fantastic location makes this chalet. The accommodation is comfortable but not luxurious. The Ski2 rating is spot on. But the convenience of the short walk from the rental shop on the ground floor to the lifts more than compensates. If you are there to ski rather than laze around, then the chalet is a place to eat and sleep.

Chris (chef) and Charlotte (host) did an amazing job of looking after us and were full of helpful tips and ideas for places to go (to eat and ski).

Rachelle (Resort Manager) has lived in Les Gets for 30 years and knows it like the back of her hand. She made sure everything was running smoothly.

Our party of 4 stayed at the Delavey for 3 nights from 8 March. This being our 5th trip with Ski2 and second in Les Gets. The short break concept works brilliantly with the personal airport pickup, lift pass sorted and closeness to slopes means you can have maximum time skiing.

The chalet gives a good friendly atmosphere for relaxing and Charlotte was a great hostess and Chris prepared some lovely meals.

We stayed for 3 nights 25 Feb 2018. We were a party of 3. Myself and my daughter are both vegetarian and vegan. They accommodated our dietary requirements brilliantly. I would have no hesitation in staying at the chalet again. It was extremely close to the resort centre, over the road from the lifts and everything about the chalet met our expectations. Having the use of the driver was an added bonus as we went and skied over in Avoriaz one day, Tom picked us up at 8:30 from our chalet and picked us back up from Avoriaz at 4 PM. Perfect.

Our group of 10 people travelled to and stayed at Chalet Delavay, Les Gets , the whole experience was excellent.
The transfer to and from Geneva was easy and the welcome bottle of Fizz and nibbles was a nice touch.
Chalet Delavey is perfectly situated – ski shop, ski lifts, bars and restaurants all on the doorstep.
Chris the chef and Charlie the host couldn’t be more helpful, great work!
Will be booking for 2019 without doubt!

Oops! Forgot to mention Tom the driver too. He was happy to drive us to and from Morzine and we beat him at pool on a social night out!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable short break stay in Chalet Delavay. From the moment we were arrived at Arrivals in Geneva things were excellent. We were met by a driver from Ski 2 and driven to Chalet Delavay where Rachel was waiting for us to show us around and to help us organise ski equipment .The hostess Harriet (Hattie) and Chef Chris were both exceptional and made our stay very relaxing. We couldn’t have asked for more.
The clean and comfortable chalet was in a fabulous position, very close to the slopes and lifts and to all that the village has to offer.
We would definitely be looking to return in the future.
    Thank you all.

Fabulous, had the best time with some lovely people. Our hosts Harriet and Chris went that extra mile to ensure that we were well cared for during our stay. The chef Chris makes mouthwatering meals and without exception we thoroughly enjoyed everything we were presented with.

The chalet itself is very comfortable, clean and warm so along with the location being 40 seconds from the ski lifts, the perfect place to stay.

    Highly recommended!

Just back from a post-New Year holiday in Chalet Delavey – travelled with one friend but have come away with a few more from our time in the Chalet.
From arrival to departure there was little to be improved – even with a day rained off the slopes.

Perfectly placed chalet – easy walking distance to the lift, above the equipment hire and 2 minutes from the supermarket, shops and bars.

Chris and Harriet were excellent in their roles as chef and host – thanks guys! – they really made the holiday run smoothly (and ensured you were never hungry and your glass was always full)!

It was a great break with all aspects catered for – will be looking to return, possibly for New Year 2019!

    Thanks to all!

I have just returned from Les Gets on a Pre-Christmas break with my 4 year old son. Chalet Delavay was the perfect location, literally 30 seconds walk from the Chavannes lift. With a child in tow this was just brilliant, with the ski rental and deposit located in the same building.

The chalet is delightful and offers great views of the town and the mountains. It has an authentic alpine feel with an open fire and a balcony. The rooms are perfectly comfortable and well equipped.

As a returning customer the Ski 2 staff offered what they always do; excellent and personalised service where nothing is to much trouble. The food was great and Chris (the Chef) takes great pride in his work. He was happy to cater for my son at whatever time worked for us each day and was flexible with his dinner options. Harriet (the Chalet Host) is a charming young lady who is always smiling and genuinely interested in her guests.

All in all, a great break with near perfect ski conditions, making it all the better. Will definitely return next year.

    Thanks, Ski 2!

Here for Easter Half Term (third year in a row) and as always it was a great break. The Chalet itself is super-well located – basically it’s a two-block walk to the lifts & cable-car.

We had a fabulous chef and chalet girl (this has been consistent each year we’ve been here) and they catered for kids and vegans as well as regular grown-ups!

Everything was organised pretty much perfectly – except of course for the actual weather, where we could have done with a few more days of snow …

Les Gets itself as a town is large enough to offer lots of things to do, but small enough that it’s personal and welcoming and highly family-friendly.

    Already booking for 2018 !

We stayed in Chalet Delavay for 1 week in Feb 2017. The Chalet was clean and spacious for 8 and exactly matched the details provided online when we booked. It is located extremely close to the main lifts; you can’t really get much closer! The staff were friendly and helpful; hard to fault. They were happy to vary the menu to cater for our slightly varied tastes.
To get a 5* review, I’d like fresh croissants from a local patisserie each morning!
I would strongly recommend the Les Gets resort in general. The only one downside is lack of snow surety. It’s quite low compared to some of the other large/popular French alps resorts. That said, the resort is very well managed and has plenty of snow cannons.
If you do visit, the Mt Chery area of Les Gets has fantastic pistes and a great restaurant (Grand Ourse).
